Fan Ting is one of Asia’s most sought-after conductors. He currently serves as Chief Conductor of the Euro Sinfonietta Vienna Orchestra, Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra, and Principal Conductor of the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet. He is also the founder of the Inheritage Philharmonic in Hong Kong and a founding faculty member of the orchestral technique course at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

Highlights from the past two seasons include conducting the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra at Vienna’s Großer Musikvereinssaal; leading the Euro Sinfonietta Vienna Orchestra at MuTh Concert Hall; and performances with the North Czech Philharmonic in Prague’s Dvořák Hall at the Rudolfinum and at Smetana Hall in the Municipal House. He also toured with the Hungarian State Symphony Orchestra of Szolnok, including concerts at Esterházy Palace’s Haydnsaal and the Vigadó Concert Hall in Budapest. In Asia, he led performances at the International Classical Music Festival in Hanoi with the Baltic Neopolis Chamber Orchestra and the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet, and conducted the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, New Seoul Philharmonic, Manila Philharmonic, and an opera gala in Singapore.

Highlights of the upcoming 2025–2026 season include conducting the Sofia Philharmonic in Bulgaria, touring with the Euro Sinfonietta Vienna Orchestra at Esterházy Palace and Vienna’s Ehrbar Saal, bringing the Daegu Symphony Orchestra to an international festival, and serving as a judge at the final of the Ysaye International Music Competition.

Fan is also deeply committed to nurturing young professional musicians in Hong Kong. Through the Inheritage Philharmonic, he presents core orchestral repertoire in major venues and provides vital opportunities to emerging talent.

Originally trained as a violinist, Fan studied at the Curtis Institute and Juilliard School with Joshua Brodsky, Joseph Fuchs, and Ivan Galamian. While at Juilliard, he also undertook formal conducting studies with Jorge Mester, laying the foundation for his later transition to conducting. He spent over 30 years with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra as Principal Second Violin, Assistant Concertmaster, and Acting Concertmaster. During his time as a violinist, he also founded the Tononi String Quartet, the New Art Quartet, and the Canzone Trio, premiering works by Benjamin Britten and Leoš Janáček in China and touring Canada, England, Italy, Japan, and the US.
